How to Start a Blog

Step 1 – Deciding on what your blog will be about

Before you go ahead and purchase a domain, make sure you know EXACTLY what your blog topic will be.

For example, I decided that I want to help as many other moms (like me) create their own success with blogging, fitness, and motherhood.

Therefore I purchased a domain that had the word “mom” in it so that my audience will know what my blog is going to talk about.

Please take your time to think about your domain!

It’s important to know exactly what you want to blog about!

You can also create a blog that is more general with a few topics…but it might take longer for you to see success with it.

Most of the readers like to read a blog under a specific topic rather than reading a blog that has everything under the moon post’s…your goal is to keep the readers coming back to your blog every time they want to know more information about your specific topic.

Step 2 – Purchase your domain

A great website to purchase a new domain is Namecheap (I personally buy all of my domains there).

Try to come up with a domain name that it will be easy for people to remember.

Try to come up with a domain name that it will be easy to remember.

For example, my domain name is it’s easy and catchy. Don’t ya think?! 😉

Don’t consider to purchase a domain that is toooooo looooong… for example Keep it short!

Max 3-5 words. – o.k. We got that covered. Next step 🙂

Step 3 – Hosting Account

You will need to host your domain name on a host server. SiteGround has a great price for hosting your domain with them.

You will only need the StartUp hosting plan.

When you sign up with SiteGround, you should know that they will bill you annually the total of 12months (1 year).

Creating your Hosting Account With SiteGround

  1. Go to SiteGround and click on the “Web Hosting” Tab in the menu.
